Year 12 Formal 2019
Made memorable by a respectful and cohesive year level, along with one of the best Dj’s we have employed, the 2019 formal went off with a bang.
One hundred and four students attended the event, one of the largest to date. Held at the Bayview Room of Silver Water Resort, both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the night.
It was wonderful seeing groups of students take charge of classrooms throughout the school, making it theirs, as they did their make up and hair, and got dressed into their finest for the night.
Students met with the hot food at the library with hungry bellies after a day of classes, and with adrenalin running through their veins; excited for what was about to happen. It’s a big deal for students normally shy and introverted, to be at such a public event with their peers. However, given the smiles on so many faces, and given the fact that groups of students were connecting, and interconnecting so freely, I’d like to think that any fears of going to the event soon dissipated.
Ben Ellis, our new DJ on board this year, did an incredible job of reading the crowd, and playing music that kept most students up dancing for most of the night; except for the three students whom I know were longing for some country classics.
It was wonderful to see students dancing, eating, chatting and taking photos of one another.
Food was plentiful and mouth- watering, thanks to the kitchen staff of Silver Water who served food out quickly, and cleared tables even quicker.
A massive thank you to all staff who helped out and supervised during the afternoon, and to those who came on the night and helped make it as memorable as it was. Staff clearly enjoyed the night as much as the Year 12’s did.
