Year 8 Zoo Trip
There was a glorious break in the terrible weather when Year 8 students embarked on a journey to the Melbourne Zoo as part of their Indonesian studies on August 19th. Students had the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals from home and abroad. The Walk of the Elephants, where the focus is on animals from South-East Asia, was a highlight and students learnt along the way about the impacts that humans are having on their habitats. Student groups looked at the ways in which palm oil, and the products that use palm oil, impact on the lives of orangutan populations. Many excellent selfies were taken and the day was a great success.
