Another massive week on camp, Tuesday 11 February- Friday 14th, with the biggest cohort to boot. 133 Year 12 students signed up for the camp this year, helping to make it an incredibly valuable four days away.
On Tuesday 4 February, Glenn McGinley and I took the Year 11 VCAL classes to visit the DESAL plant. After a general OHS training video, and booklet to be filled in, students were given a brief history of the plant by Tim Scott, and taken on a tour.
There was a glorious break in the terrible weather when Year 8 students embarked on a journey to the Melbourne Zoo as part of their Indonesian studies on August 19th. Students had the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals from home and abroad.
The Year 12 Business Management class enjoyed at recent tour of the Saputo Devondale Factory in Leongatha. Students were given a tour of the site and were able to observe the production of Devondale butters, spreads and UHT long life milk.
On Monday 13th May, the Senior class visited the Heidelberg and Preston Campuses of Melbourne Polytechnic. Starting the tour was a visit of the Heidelberg Campus, specialising in the areas of Electrical, Facbrication, Plumbing and Carpentry.
On the 29th April and the 2nd May, the Senior VCAL class and the first of two Year 11 VCAL classes, with thanks to Karena Kerr from LLEN, took part in the Watersure OHS Training.
Year 9 Japanese students are currently studying an immersion unit (no English!) on Toyota.
